Why metal fence posts are the future of fencing

Wooden fence posts are the traditional choice amongst homeowners because of their classic look and relatively low cost.

Concrete fence posts are another popular choice because of their minimal maintenance and durability.

But metal fence posts are already taking over and are set to be the future of fencing. We’ll explain why.

Are metal fence posts more durable?

Timber

Timber fence posts have a limited life span. Timber will typically last between 5 and 10 years, depending on how it is maintained.

Concrete

Concrete is a strong building material, which can last for around 20 years (twice the length of a timber fence post!)

But concrete fence posts are still susceptible to damage and erosion. Strong wind and rain can cause concrete posts to chip and crack. When this happens, the wire structure can become exposed to the elements, weakening the fence post.

Metal

Steel fence posts offer a strong, long lasting fence for your property. Durapost is made from cold-rolled galvanized steel, which is guaranteed to last up to 25 years.
